More About Omega Elastomeric Couplings

What makes Omega different from the rest?

Time tested proven results from the leading coupling provider

Proven & Trusted Performance

Omega couplings have been used for over 40 years in a wide assortment of demanding applications and recognized in the industry as the benchmark for elastomeric split-in-half tire couplings.

Torque-Dense Flex Elements

Omega’s specially formulated polyurethane provides significantly higher peak torque capabilities than competitive rubber based solutions allowing selection of a smaller sized coupling and ultimately a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Variety of Sizes and Options

In addition to being available in 16 metric and imperial sizes, Omega is offered as a general-purpose Orange, in a High Density Yellow (HDY) option that provides 25% more torque capacity, and a Green Hydrolytically Stable Urethane (HSU) option that’s ideal for hot and humid environments. Anti-corrosive steel shoes and stainless steel hardware or hubs are also available upon request.

Weight Balanced Elements

Omega half elements are tightly matched to ensure standard weight balance conforms with ISO G16 (1504 RPM) and AGMA Class 8, helping to prevent premature wearing due to an unbalanced coupling.

Radial Bolting provides easier access than axially bolted couplings in confined areas. Hardware available in standard carbon steel, or stainless steel.
Polyurethane-to-Metal Bond minimizes coupling components and eliminates potential slippage problems associated with mechanically clamped designs.
Interchangeable Hubs between close coupled and spacer elements allow for reduced inventory. Hubs available in carbon steel, 303-304 stainless steel, or with electroless nickel plating.
Split-in-Half Design for easy assembly and replacement without having to remove the hubs. No need to realign equipment.
Torsionally Soft Weight Balanced Flex Elements cushions shock loads and vibration to protect and extend connected equipment life.
High-misalignment Capacity accommodates unavoidable misalignment with reduced reactionary forces on connected equipment.
Heavy Duty Yellow (HDY) provides 25% more torque capacity than the same size in standard (orange) Omega.
Hydrolytically Stable Green (HSU) material is ideal for hot and humid environments. The HSU-J includes an anti-corrosive coating and stainless steel hardware for extreme corrosion resistance.
