Hotjar

We use Hotjar to better understand how users navigate in our website. The sole purpose of the data collection is to improve the functionality of our website and the overall user experience of users and customers.Hotjar works with cookies and other technologies (heatmaps and session recordings) to collect data about our users' behaviour and about their devices, in particular device IP address (collected and stored only in anonymized form), pages visited, date, time, screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), mouse movements, location (country only), preferred language for viewing our website. All the information provided in input fields will be suppressed at the client-side and will not be transferred to Hotjar.   • Enables us to know whether the data set in _hjUserAttributes Local Storage item is up to date or not.
  • Session duration.

  • Enables us to know when any User Attribute has changed and needs to be updated.
  • 2 minutes duration, extended every 30 seconds.

  • We try to store the _hjTLDTest cookie for different URL substring alternatives until it fails.
  • Enables us to try to determine the most generic cookie path to use, instead of page hostname.
  • It means that cookies can be shared across subdomains (where applicable).
  • After this check, the cookie is removed.

  • Updated when a user recording starts and when data is sent to the server (the user performs an action that Hotjar records).

Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile. We will keep the collected data for 3 months. For this data processing, Hotjar Ltd supports us as a processor according to Art. 28 GDPR and we have concluded a data processing agreement with Hotjar. Hotjar is contractually prohibited from selling the data collected on our behalf. The data processing is based on your consent, provided that you have given your consent via our cookie banner. Hotjar might transfer the collected data to countries outside of the UK and EEA without an adequate level of data protection (for example, the USA). There is a risk that authorities may access the data for security and monitoring purposes without you being informed or having legal remedies. Please keep this in mind if you decide to give your consent to our use of Hotjar. If you decide to give your consent, this transfer to a third country without an adequate level of data protection takes place on the grounds of Art. 49.1(a) GDPR.
