Falk V-Class Nominated for Product of the YearFalk V-Class Gear Drive Named Finalist for
Plant Engineering Magazine’s Product of the Year
In the November issue of Plant Engineering magazine, the Falk V-Class™ gear drive was named a finalist for the publication’s “Product of the Year.” It’s the magazine’s 24th annual award presentation, which the publication describes as the premier honor for new products in the manufacturing market. The Falk V-Class is one of the elite finalists, selected by a panel of industry experts.

Among the callouts that captured the panel’s attention:

      •

It was designed to provide the strength, durability, ease of maintenance and cooler running needed to excel under difficult operating conditions. Development began with extensive “voice of the customer” surveys and interviews to determine the features and benefits most critical to end-users.
      •

The design is the result of more than 100,000 engineering hours and a rigorous test program, under which the Falk V-Class exceeded expectations for dependability by a wide margin.
      •

Energy savings in a typical application have been projected to include $1,000 in electric power and $10,000 in water the first year, with $5,000 saved per year thereafter. Total savings are estimated at $80,000 over 15 years of operation.
      •

Additional savings are realized due to the more compact design that requires less lubricant. Also, loss from churning and oil leaks is reduced by internal drive features, as well as improved sealing technology.
