Make Your Drive Better than Ever
At Falk RENEW Prager®, we don't believe any gear drive should be considered obsolete just because it's no longer manufactured. If it meets a customer's application requirements, it's worth repairing.
Falk RENEW Prager services improve the efficiency of your older gear drive with modern gearing and components that were unavailable when it was originally manufactured:
• Increase gear drive capacities by as much as 35% with carburized and
finish-ground gearing and high-performance bearings
• Further improve maintainability and extend service life with Falk Magnum Seal® Cages
and Falk AirMax® Breathers
Inspection, Detailed Quoting and Complete Documentation
When your drive arrives at one of the Falk RENEW Prager remanufacturing facilities, our 22-step process kicks in. Each drive is visually inspected, photographed and scanned for structural problems not apparent to the naked eye. Disassembly is documented with critical steps photographed along the way. At this stage, our engineers examine the drive to determine the full extent of repairs needed and adjust the initial estimate accordingly. Then, grease, paint and years of grime are stripped away in a high-pressure, automated wash-down machine engineered specifically for drive restoration. With a clean product in hand, our machinists—who have an average of 20 years of experience in gear drive repair—commence a detailed repair procedure. The entire process is digitally documented for your records, and maintained at Falk RENEW Prager as well.
Rebuilt to Factory Specifications, Not Simply Repaired
When a drive experiences a damaged gear, a broken shaft, failing bearings or a cracked housing, you can either patch it with a quick repair or you can restore the drive to its original operating specification. At Renew, we understand that what we do is more than repair work—we help ensure your operation is up and running, and generating revenue. So we don't cut corners by simply welding components and grinding surfaces smooth to appear as if it's repaired. Our engineers test and match the metallurgy of the original components to ensure they meet the torque requirements they were designed to handle.
Complete Testing and Certification
Before any refurbished drive leaves our facilities it is cleaned, load tested, leak tested, and ultimately painted to your specifications. The results of all tests are part of the detailed documentation that accompanies the drive when it is returned for reinstallation.
