Bearings Airframe Structures
Rexnord® bearings are found in many aircraft structure location points such as:
• Flight control hinge points
• Control rods
• Fuselage connection points
• Aircraft doors

Flaps Bearings
Shafer® torque tube bearings are ideal for restricted envelope applications such as flaps. With a low roller contact angle, these bearings can accommodate a narrow width and thin cross section. Flaps bearing features include:
• Designed for use in oscillatory motion
• High radial load capacity
• Low unmounted internal clearance
• Self-aligning
• Corrosion resistant
• Relubriciatable
The single-row design offers an integral outer ring shoulder capable of handling thrust, while the double-row design offers both straight and concave rollers to meet axial load requirements.
Current catalog offerings can accommodate shaft sizes from 1.0000 – 6.0000 in (25.400 – 152.400 mm), but additional sizes can be designed to meet your application needs. Please contact our engineering department to discuss the specifics of your application to ensure optimum cost, performance and reliability.

Strut Bearings
PSI bearings are extensively used on struts by all major OEMs due to their excellent ball-to-race conformity, which results in high stiffness and durability. In addition, these bearings can be run dry or grease lubricated depending on the load motion spectrum.

Hinge Bearings
Shafer double-row bearings have an angular contact angle designed for handling high radial and thrust loads, making them ideal for hinge applications. These hinge bearings have the following features:
• Minimal to zero initial freeplay
• Rolling friction values of .001 - .002
• Internal self alignment
• Corrosion resistant
• Relubricatable
• Minimal to zero wear rate over the life of the aircraft
Double-row annular bearings can be manufactured with a chamfer or radius edge and a swaged lip or captor design. They are available in a variety of sizes that can be designed to meet your application needs. Please contact our engineering department to discuss the specifics of your application to ensure optimum cost, performance, and reliability.

Pylon Bearings
Pylon bearings, designed and used in wing applications, offer the following ideal features:
• Self-lubricated
• Designed for use in oscillatory motion
• Designed for use in systems requiring low friction

Slat Bearings
Shafer torque tube bearings are ideal for restricted envelope applications such as slats. With a low roller contact angle, these bearings can accommodate a narrow width and thin cross section. Slat bearings features include:
• Designed for use in oscillatory motion
• High radial load capacity
• Low unmounted internal clearance
• Self-aligning
• Corrosion resistant
• Relubriciatable
