Material Analysis

Material analysis applications range from research and development of new materials for new products and applications to continuous improvement and corrective action through forensic engineering and failure analysis.

The Rexnord Innovation Center has a long history of providing metallurgical services for ferrous
and non-ferrous materials, alloy steels, polymers, and composites. Additionally, our Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) allows analyze problem areas by examining the fracture surface and examine the local composition through Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS).

The Rexnord Innovation Center has a long history of providing metallurgical services for ferrous and non-ferrous materials, alloy steels, polymers and composites. We can characterize material composition, macro and microstructure, hardness distribution, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, environmental exposure resistance, thermal cycling performance and abrasive wear resistance. Additionally, our Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) allows our analysts to perform in-depth analysis of failures and also determine chemical composition through Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS).

The Rexnord Innovation Center specializes in Industrial Metrology, the application of measurement science to manufacturing or other processes. Our experience has been used both in the lab and field environments insuring the measurements made are compliant to the relevant standard. Precision instruments, combined with our experienced and expert engineering judgements ensure accurate and reliable evaluation.
