Materials Engineering
Materials engineering or materials science is the interdisciplinary field that involves understanding the properties of matter and its application to engineering. The science involves investigating the structure of materials at the atomic, molecular and macroscopic level. Applications can range from upfront research and development of new materials for new products and applications to continuous improvement and corrective action through forensic engineering and failure analysis.
