
Engineering Mechanics
Engineering mechanics, also called applied mechanics, is a branch of the physical sciences and the practical application of mechanics. Engineering mechanics bridges the gap between theory and its application to technology. Classical methods of statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials and strength of materials are used to understand components and systems.
The process is brought to life by formulating hypotheses, observing physical systems, interpreting phenomena. This is followed up by testing theories with the use of experimental and computational tools.
